Senior Social event returns to Fincastle this Friday

The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office will host its next Senior Social on Friday, July 25, at 11:30 a.m. at Fincastle Baptist Church, 7330 Roanoke Road, Fincastle. The event is part of the ongoing Senior Focus Outreach Program, which aims to connect seniors with local resources and promote public safety through community engagement.

Sheriff Matthew Ward will provide a presentation focused on crime prevention strategies specifically designed to help seniors protect themselves from fraud, scams, and other criminal activity. The program will also feature guest speaker Jay Kilby with RE/MAX. Jay specializes in helping clients make informed decisions, and he is going to share his knowledge and assurances that real estate doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

A variety of public and private service providers will be on site to offer information and answer questions on topics such as health and wellness checks, financial well being, and navigating future care needs. Government representatives will also be present to assist with inquiries related to public services and senior support programs.

This event will be provided free of charge to members of the senior community in Botetourt County.

For more information, contact Andrea Mundy, Community Outreach Coordinator, at 540-928-2233.

Residents are encouraged to share the event with senior friends, neighbors, or family members in Botetourt County. All are welcome to attend.
