Thelma Mary Frances Flowers Cronise, 95, of Eagle Rock, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at Kissito Post-Acute-The Brian Center Alleghany following a brief illness.
Thelma was born in Jeters Chapel November 29, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Garman E. and Willie L. Preston Flowers. She lived in the area all of her life. Thelma was homemaker and helped her husband Rhudy on the farm. She loved country music.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Rhudy” Cronise; two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Bill Broughman of Salem, Linda and Larry Hatley of Albemarle, N.C., and Amy Sexton of Eagle Rock; grandchildren, Charles Broughman, Valerie Hodges, and Andy Sexton; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Hodges, Kayden Sexton, and Preston Sexton.
A celebration of Thelma’s life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville with Pastor Charles Miller and Thelma’s nephew, Lee Cronise, officiating. Burial was in Wheatland Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service.
