Tom Witt, 61, of Buchanan went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 8, 2021.
Tom was employed at Munters Corporation in Buena Vista as a Commercial Assembler. He was a Lifetime Member of the NRA. Tom was an active outdoorsman, loved to hunt, fish, canoe, camp and go four wheeling. Tom was a gifted storyteller and was also known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking and had a knack for creating recipes which he would gladly share.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, James Malcolm and Mary Virginia Owens Witt, and his son, Thomas Clinton Witt, also known as Tommy.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Dandridge, and husband Dana; granddaughter, Autumn; and his siblings – Barry Witt and wife Lyn, Patricia Simpson and husband Jonathan, Mike Witt and wife Robin, Sharon Rainaldi and husband John, and Ruth Coan and husband James. Also, like a sibling, Cindy Harris, who he told was the sister no one knew about. He was also survived by a longtime friend, Evon Chambers, and extended family, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Tom was a “good man” and a word often used when describing him was “honest.” He will be missed greatly by many. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 23 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan location, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Boone officiating. Tom would have wanted to pass along his firm belief, based on facts, Trump Won.
