Those who dine at Three Li’l Pigs in Daleville from 4-9 p.m. today, April 30, will be supporting Solomon’s Mission in Buchanan. The restaurant will donate a portion of its sales to the mission to benefit the organization’s many community projects.
One project is a teen work program, which began in the summer of 2021 that was designed to keep teens off the street while helping to prepare them for the workforce, and to build relationships and share Jesus. In 2024, Solomon’s had adequate funding for the teen work program to give four teens a week this opportunity year-round. Two of these teens are now working part-time in the community. In 2025, the continuation of this program is dependent upon funding.
Solomon’s Mission also had an adult work program, creating a one day a week to start jobs for adults who needed part-time employment. The program provided a starting point for adults in need of direction as they enter or re-enter the workforce. This year, three of the adults went into full-time work after being in this program for a while. It varies with each individual, according to his or her needs. This program was an expansion of the Christmas Work Program that began about three years ago and is also dependent on funding.
