Fincastle Town Manager David Tickner announced his resignation last Thursday. His final day as town manager will be May 11 following Fincastle Town Council’s monthly meeting. He’s served as part-time town manager since the fall of 2010. The town has designated a search team to look for his replacement. In the meantime, Town Council will act together in performing town management duties based on their areas of expertise, according to Fincastle Mayor Mary Bess Smith. Tickner leaves Fincastle to start working for the Roanoke Regional Airport as the new Airport Planner.
Fincastle Town Council meets this Thursday, May 11, at the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department Training Room at 7 p.m.
