The Lord Botetourt indoor track team ran in a big meet at Liberty University last Saturday to open the winter season.
“It was a great first meet on both the boys’ and girls’ sides,” said LB coach Tra Wilson. “This was the first meet for several of the athletes, and I’m proud of how they competed. We will only get better from here.”
Alicia Holmes qualified for state and broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 36’10” for third place in the meet. On the boys’ side, Nathaniel Mullins broke the school record in the pole vault with a jump of 10’6”.
This Saturday the Cavaliers will be competing in the East Coast Invitational at the Roanoke College Kerr-Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse in Salem. Field events begin at 9 a.m.
