
Lord Botetourt’s Eric Duncan and Caleb Miller both placed in events at the Virginia High School League Class 3 state track meet last weekend. Liberty University in Lynchburg hosted the meet on Friday and Saturday.
Duncan finished third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:20.20. He also competed in the 1,600 but did not place.
Miller competed in the 110-meter hurdles and took fourth place. He ran 14.56 in the preliminaries to make the finals, then ran 14.87 in the state championship race on Saturday.
LB’s Triston Graves competed in the 100 and 200 dashes and the 4×800 boys relay team was 16th.
For the girls, Jillian Harris and Ratie Jensen were 14th and 17th in the 100-meter hurdles. Harris also competed in the long jump and Morgan Wilmer ran in the 200-meter dash.
The Heritage High girls and Fauquier boys won Class 3 state team championships. LB’s boys tied for 22nd and the girls did not score.
