The University of Virginia and Virginia Tech kicked off their football seasons with decisive home wins last Saturday, as the Wahoos beat Duke, 38-20, and the Hokies pounded N.C. State, 45-24, despite missing two dozen players with the COVID-19 virus. Here UVA’s Brennan Armstrong throws a pass and tight end Troy Poljan is upended after a nice gain. Hokies coach Justin Fuente was a masked man as he talks things over with starting quarterback Braxton Burmeister(#3). Khalil Herbert(#21) had a nice day running the ball and the few Hokie fans who were allowed to attend had lots to cheer about in the win. This Saturday Tech will take their turn with the Blue Devils, at Duke, and UVA goes to Clemson.
