Experience “A Night in the American Revolution” Saturday, March 28, 6-8 p.m. at the historic Wilson Warehouse in Buchanan.
The Wilson Warehouse will be transformed into a Revolutionary War era tavern where visitors can enjoy food and drink of the era while nine historic interpreters and actors portray various Revolutionary War figures among the guests.
This unique dinner theatre has been created by the Buchanan Town Improvement Society and the Salem Museum and Historical Society.
Admission includes a three-course dinner similar to what would have been served 250 years ago. A Few Old Goats brewery in Buchanan will provide a specially brewed beer that reflects beer of the Colonial era. Wine will also be available.
The Wilson Warehouse will be converted into “The Winding Road Tavern” in honor of the building’s location on the original “Great Wagon Road.” Some furniture items are being built just for the event to create a tavern atmosphere. Even a “stocks” will be displayed outside, a Colonial-era device used for public shaming and punishment.
As a special part of this event, the Commonwealth’s VA250 Mobile Museum will be on site 3-6 p.m. for free tours. Event tickets are not required to visit the museum.
Dinner theatre seating is limited so those interested are encouraged to order tickets soon. Ticket sales close March 15 or until all seats have been sold. Order and pay online at Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/va250btis. Tickets are also available by phone at 540-817-5772.
The Wilson Warehouse is located at 421 Lowe Street in Buchanan. For information, call 540-817-5772.
