VFW Post 1841 and Auxiliary in Daleville, along with the American Legion Post 240, is hosting the sixth annual “Appreciation Day” for Botetourt County’s active duty first responders. The luncheon is at the VFW Post, 4902 Roanoke Road, Daleville, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 16. “We hope for a good showing of law enforcement, fire departments, rescue squads, located in Botetourt County and any VSP that maybe on patrol in the area,” said Jerry Jacobsen, VFW Commander. The event will be catered by Mission BBQ of Roanoke, with other donations from local restaurants.
