Lee Minnix, the owner and CEO of the Sunshine Services in Troutville, recently received an award plaque from VFW Post 1841 Commander Jerry Jacobsen to recognize her patriotic work with local Botetourt County veterans’ programs in which she has either begun or been involved with over the past years. The plaque says: “For your enduring patriotism and personal commitments you have spent over the years in honoring and recognizing the local military veterans from all wars and conflicts in the Botetourt County area. For all the local events that you helped start and participated in, including the annual Troutville Elementary Veterans’ Day programs. You have inspired all of us veterans who know you as to your sincere love and devotion to the needy and homebound veterans. Also, for your unwavering support and enthusiasm and unrelenting energy in seeing that all veterans that you know of are well recognized and honored for their service to the United States of America.”
