The Damascus Brewery tent (left) was a popular spot during Saturday’s Virginia Beer & Wine Festival at Daleville Town Center.
The brewery was started and is owned by James River High School graduate and Eagle Rock native Adam Woodson. It’s located in Damascus where Woodson has also opened a restaurant. The fifth annual festival drew just under 1,000 visitors, according to Daleville Institute organizer Molly Henry. “It was a great event,” she said. “It is a very popular event that seems to grow each year…we had several visitors stop in from their travels off I-81.” Henry said she spoke with families from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. A festival volunteer also noted talking to a visitor from Arizona. The Virginia Beer & Wine Festival is the largest event produced annually at Daleville Town Center, Henry said. Five distributors representing 42 breweries, cideries and wineries took part in the vent “It’s a fabulous event within the Botetourt community,” she added.
