Christopher Allen Weeks (Rubber Duck), 41, of Buchanan, left his family Friday morning, September 27, 2019 to be with his sister, Rebecca Marie Weeks and family; grandparents, Dewey and Joy Wright, Viola McDowell; great-grandmother, Marie Harlow; and great-grandfather, James Weeks in heaven. He got his wings and was ready to fly but we weren’t ready to let him go.

Chris was a sweet man and would do anything to help you.  He loved his buddies and his friends.  Chris was full of life and loved going to work at Advance Support Center. He loved his coworkers and they have been great support during his illness and not able to work. Chris wanted to return to work so badly but his health wouldn’t allow him. Chris loved to talk to people and he made so many people smile and laugh.

Chris had two fur buddies, Biggen and Ivy, whom he loved to pieces. Chris would always tell Grandma to give them a treat and they would come running in the kitchen for them.

His father Larry had been staying with him for a long time to help him before and after he got sick.  Whenever Chris needed something, night or day, his dad was there to help him out no matter what.

His stepfather John Henry was also there if anything was ever needed.

“We love you, son, from the bottom of our hearts and you will be sadly missed.  Love you my rubber duck, Mom.”

He is survived by his parents, Larry A. Weeks and Rebecca “Becky” and John Henry Taylor; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the Advance Support Center family.

A memorial gathering was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com.
