William “Bill” D. Hylton, 84, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gertrude Hylton; brothers, Melvin, Harold, Jimmy, and Carl; grandsons, Aaron and Stephen Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Della Hylton; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sharon Hylton, Danny and Bridget Hylton; daughters, Debbie and Mike Morris, Deana Falls; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Joyce Hylton; brother-in-law, Ronnie Thomasson and wife, Marilyn; sisters-in-law, Georgia Ayers, Peggy Broughman and husband, Joe; numerous nieces and nephews; his Moose family; and many card playing friends.
Bill served in Army Security and the Buchanan Rescue Squad, and retired from Virginia Transformer after 40 years of service. Special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and the loving care from nurse Sarah Quenlin.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held upstairs at Buchanan Moose Lodge 2182 on Saturday, June 19. Family time is from 2-4 p.m. and friends from 4-6 p.m. Casual dress is appreciated.
