Paul Turman, a resident of Fincastle and a rising fourth grader at Breckinridge Elementary School, was recently named a member of the inaugural class of Junior Achievement Southwest Virginia’s “18 Under 18” for the Roanoke Valley. Paul is the only member from Botetourt County. He was nominated for the award for his entrepreneurial spirit, community service, and academic achievements.

Paul is the owner of Turman & Turman: Farm Fresh Eggs, a small egg business that started from his 2023 Botetourt County Fair 4-H Poultry Chain project. He not only sells his eggs, he also donates his eggs to local food pantries and donates a portion of the proceeds from his sales to the various ministries at Fincastle Baptist Church. Paul was an A Honor Roll student for the entirety of the 2023-2024 school year and was nominated for the Jennifer Coon Citizenship Award.

Paul is a Fincastle Booster Club athlete, an active participant in the children’s ministry at Fincastle Baptist Church, the secretary of the Botetourt County 4-H Livestock Club and participates in horseback riding at AP Equestrian in Troutville. He is featured in the July/August 2024 issue of The Roanoker Magazine for his award.
