Ridge Rifle Association will hold its Brownells/NRA Youth Shooting Clinic from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11. The clinic will be held at the range, 5397 Botetourt Road, Fincastle.
The event is designed to introduce boys and girls, ages 8-18, to firearms safety. All are required to attend firearms safety training prior to the live fire shooting station. Parents/guardians may accompany their child through the stations to learn with them.
The learning stations are: firearms safety class, two .22 rifle shooting stations, Botetourt SO SWAT Team and a Virginia game warden.
Registration is required and space is limited to 60 shooters, so register early. To sign up, email tmarietate@gmail.com or call 992-2520. You will be sent a registration link. After registering, you will receive instructions on submitting the deposit and completing the registration process.
There is no fee for the event; however, this year a $10 deposit is required to hold the registration. Participants that complete the event will have their deposits refunded when certificates are handed out at the end.
There is a lunch break during the event. Mill Creek Baptist will be on site selling hot dogs, chips, drinks, etc., as a fundraiser for mission trips. Participants may also bring their own packed lunches.
Drawings will be held for door prizes, including a grand prize of a .22 rifle.
