The James River girls made history when they won their first ever tennis match last week. The girls won 5-4 over Alleghany at Hollins University last Thursday.

River was back at Hollins on Monday for two Three Rivers District matches against Carroll County, picking up another win as they split two matches with the Cavaliers. James River will host Radford for two next Monday, May 12, at Hollins.

Lord Botetourt’s boys defeated Magna Vista last Wednesday, 5-4. The girls played Staunton River twice and won 9-0 and 7-2. Staunton River does not have a boys team.

Both LB teams were scheduled to play William Byrd on Tuesday. On Friday the girls are at William Fleming and the boys will host the Colonels at Hollins.
