The first year James River girls’tennis team made the Region 2C tournament but lost to Appomattox in their opener, 5-1.
Leanna Steger represented the girls in singles play and was defeated by the number one from Appomattox, 8-1, in a pro set. The River doubles team of Payton White and Addison Bandy was scheduled to compete in the region doubles tournament on Tuesday.
