New pickleball courts revealed at Buchanan Recreational Park

Botetourt County Parks & Recreation unveiled the newly resurfaced tennis and pickleball courts at Buchanan Recreational Park last Friday evening. Parks and Rec Director Victor Morales welcomed visitors and provided them with a before and after look of the courts before the community grabbed their mallets for an evening of fun and outdoor recreation.

Morales described the work that went into the cost-effective resurfacing and shared his excitement for the county’s newest pickleball facility. This court, along with the new courts in Blue Ridge, will receive regular maintenance.

These refurbished courts are a part of the county’s Recreation Incentive Fund—a locally managed funding program designed to support community-driven park and recreation improvements through a matching grant structure.
