On Monday, 20 volunteers joined forces with Sirens and Salutes to install the annual “9/11 Field of Heroes” tribute. The display features 406 American flags, each accompanied by a tag honoring a first responder who lost his or her life during the September 11 attacks.

The memorial will be on display over the next two weekends in conjunction with the Beaver Dam Sunflower Festival.

“We need to remember these heroes who gave their lives rescuing others that day, as well as all the first responders across our country who continue to protect their communities every day,” said Bill Price, founder and president of Sirens and Salutes. “A special thank you to Candice Monaghan for allowing us to set up the field at her festival.”
