Lord Botetourt was scheduled to host James River on the wrestling mat tonight but that has been postponed due to inclement weather. No makeup date was announced at press time.

Both teams were in action last weekend. The Cavaliers wrestled in the “River Rumble” at Staunton River High School.

The Cavaliers had one champion, Jackson Dean, who pinned Tyler Witt of Staunton River in the final in 1:05. Morgan Parr made the championship match and took a second, falling to Owen Borden of Staunton River in the final.

Vallen Pennock and Haiden Reedy both took thirds, Jordan Whitten was fourth and LB had three fifth places, Ian Keister, Kayden McClure and Mathias Newton.

James River had four wrestlers entered in the tournament at Hargrave Military Academy last week. The Knights will be in the “Knights of the Round Table” tournament at Cave Spring on Saturday along with the LB “B Team.” The Lord Botetourt “A Team” will wrestle in an event at Greenbriar East.
