The Virginia High School League All-State Class 2 football team was released over the holidays and James River had two players included.
Gavin Binns and Jayden Alston both made second team on offense, Ginns at running back and Alston on the offensive line. Both are seniors.
Strasburg junior running back Quincy Williams is the Class 2 Offensive Player of the Year and Strasburg senior defensive lineman Hutson Conrad is the Class 2 Defensive Player of the Year. Strasburg head coach Tripp Lamb is the Class 2 Coach of the Year after the Rams defeated Glenvar for the Class 2 state championship.
Alston and Binns also made first team on the All-Region 2C offense team, and Alston was also named first team defense on the line. Second team selections were Jack Beheler on the defensive line, Sam Wilson at linebacker, and Ryan Daniels at defensive back.
In the Three Rivers District, Binns and Alston made first team offense and Alston also made first team defense. Second team All-3RD are Beheler, Wilson, and Daniels on the defense.
