The local high school track teams were in action last Saturday as Lord Botetourt ran at Liberty University and James River competed at Roanoke College.
The Cavaliers competed in the Liberty Premier Invitational in Lynchburg. Triston Graves took third in the 55 hurdles and Botetourt’s 4×200 team finished fourth. Jayden Windson took 10th in the high jump.
For the girls, Karleigh Brown was ninth in the pole vault and Abigail Perkey was ninth in the shot put. Ratie Jensen was 13th in the high jump.
James River took athletes to the East Coast Elite “Pajama Invitational” at Roanoke College Saturday. Gavin Binns was second in the 55 dash and sister Kaia Binns was sixth in the girls’ 55 dash. River’s 4×200 girls’ relay team was third and Brianna Petty was 10th in the shot put. Braden Jones was 11th in the boys’ 1600.
