Max Mizuba (top in LB cap) leads off the Medley Relay at the Salem Y.

The James River and Lord Botetourt swim teams both will compete in meets this week. The Knights were at the Salem YMCA to take on Glenvar on Tuesday and Lord Botetourt is at the Gator Center in Roanoke for a meet tonight, Wednesday.

Last week River swam in a meet at the Salem Y and had some good results. The girls’ medley relay team of Riley Persinger, Kim Van Auken, Sarah Lorman and Lydia Jones dropped seven seconds to make the state cut. Harrison Hanna dropped eight seconds in the 200 free and Austin Myers is dropping time and working toward state cuts.

Lord Botetourt competed in the All-Timesland Meet at the Gator Center last Saturday. Max Mizuba took first in the 200 IM and the 100 back while Julia Misicko took second in the 200 free and third in the 100 fly.
