Two Covington men were arrested late last month after a traffic stop in Botetourt County led to the seizure of several illegal narcotics, according to information the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office shared this week.
The Sheriff’s Office detailed the Feb. 28 arrest in a social media post published Monday morning.
According to the department, deputies conducted a traffic stop Feb. 28 in the 1700 block of Roanoke Road in Daleville. During the stop, K-9 Nuka alerted to the possible presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and discovered quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and MDMA, along with packaging materials consistent with drug distribution, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Joseph Stinnett, 57, of Covington, and Zane Brizzi, 25, of Covington, were taken into custody at the scene.
Both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 223.5 grams (8 ounces) of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute MDMA.
Authorities said deputies seized approximately 223.5 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of fentanyl, 42 grams of cocaine and 33 grams of MDMA.
Botetourt County Sheriff Matt Ward said the arrest reflects the department’s ongoing focus on drug enforcement.
“Let me be clear, if you’re dealing drugs in Botetourt County, we’re coming for you,” Ward said in a statement shared in the department’s post. “We won’t hesitate to take dangerous narcotics off our streets and put those responsible behind bars. Your time is up.”
The Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to proactively enforcing the law and removing dangerous drugs from the community.
