A community meeting concerning the proposed Google Data Center in Botetourt County is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at the VFW on Route 220 in Daleville.
According to a flyer distributed by organizers, food and music will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a town hall meeting at 3 p.m.
The event is being hosted by the Botetourt Citizens’ Group. The flyer lists the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter as a special guest.
According to its website, the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization working for “a Virginia where communities—not polluters—shape policy and decision-making.” The organization states it advocates for clean air, safe water, and healthy neighborhoods and supports what it describes as “a just, sustainable future together.”
