The Lord Botetourt girls will be at home and the boys will be in Pulaski County Thursday when the Region 3D soccer tournaments open.
The girls will host Blue Ridge District rival William Byrd at 6 p.m. in Daleville. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two with Byrd winning the first two, 5-1 and 5-3. However, the 10-8 Cavaliers are higher seeded than the 10-9 Terriers so LB gets to host the game on Thursday.
The LB boys are 8-7-3 as they head to Dublin Thursday to take on Pulaski County. The Cavaliers are primed for the post-season.
“The focus now shifts to regional play and continuing to improve in handling the physical style of play that many postseason teams bring,” said coach Tim Wright.
Both the LB girls and boys lost Blue Ridge District tournament semifinals games last week. The boys lost to Franklin County at home, 2-0, and the girls lost to Franklin County in Rocky Mount, 3-1.
