Practices are now under way for all fall high school sports in Botetourt County, and the golf teams will be the first to open their regular season schedule.
The Lord Botetourt golf team was scheduled to open the season Tuesday with a Blue Ridge District “mini match” at Ole Monterey, hosted by William Fleming. The Cavs are at Hanging Rock on Thursday for a mini match hosted by Northside, beginning at 1 p.m.
On Monday the Cavaliers will participate in the Heritage Invitational at London Downs in Lynchburg. That will also be the first action for the James River golfers. The first round is at Blue Hills on August 8.
