The Roanoke Valley Wrestling Association held the 2019 Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn on Monday, April 29. Several Botetourt County athletes received scholarship awards and a Botetourt County head coach received a special award. Bobby Stewart, head coach of the James River High School team, received the RVWA Coach of the Year for 2019 award. Also, Caleb Shipwash of James River received the Roy Stanley Outstanding Achievement Award, Hunter Sell of Lord Botetourt High received the Stan Parker Memorial Scholarship and Jacob Brown of Lord Botetourt was the recipient of the Ken Shelton Memorial Scholarship.
