The Lord Botetourt golfers were looking to add to their lead in the Blue Ridge District golf tour when the Cavaliers played host to the district Tuesday at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club.

The Cavaliers had the low score in each of the first three rounds, including last week’s match at Ole Monterey, hosted by William Fleming. Botetourt shot a 298 on the par 71 course, which was 14 over as a team for the four counting scores.

“We had a good day,” said coach Todd Smith. “Everyone played well overall.”

The Cavaliers had two golfers tied for medalist honors, as Ashton Harper and Samir Davidov both shot 72. Harper, a freshman, and Davidov, a sophomore, are now first and second, respectively, in the individual district standings.

Also scoring for LB, both with 77, were senior Kyle Lograsso and junior Kaitlyn Mosdell. Mosdell is fifth in the overall standings and Lograsso is eighth.

The Cavaliers also played a couple non-district dual matches in the past week. Last Thursday they took their “B” team to the Blacksburg Country Club to play Blacksburg High in a nine-hole match. Lograsso, a regular who played since he doesn’t have afternoon classes, led LB with a 42 while Jake Koffman had 43 and Logan Hollandsworth and Jacob Vance both shot 45. Blacksburg’s “A” team won, 142-175.

On Monday at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club the Cavalier “B” team, plus Lograsso, hosted E.C. Glass and lost over nine holes, 168-184. Kyle led with a 41, followed by Hollandsworth at 45 and three golfers shot 49, Vance, Trey Sharp and Carson Cook.
