Second Saturday free lunch at Solomon’s Mission
Solomon’s Mission on Lowe Street in Buchanan will have its Second Saturday free lunch on March 14 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The lunch will consist of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, bread, dessert and a drink, provided by the Liberty University Servant Evangelism Team. All are welcome.
St. Patrick’s Day supper at Ebenezer UMC
Ebenezer United Methodist Church will have a corned beef and cabbage supper from 5-7 p.m. March 17 at the church on Nace Road, Troutville. Other foods will be available, along with desserts.
Fairview Cemetery Association meets March 17
Fairview Cemetery Association is a non-profit group that is run by volunteers and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Fairview and Mountain View Cemeteries in Buchanan.
There will be a meeting on Tuesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at the Botetourt Event Center, 14860 Lee Highway, Buchanan, to discuss the future plans for the organization. Anyone who is interested in volunteering to help work with the FCA or in taking a leadership role is encouraged to attend this meeting.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop has a great selection of spring clothes, including spring jackets, all colors and sizes. All shoes and jeans are still 50 cents each. The shop is open each Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
BAMA presenting community Lenten services
The Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) has again scheduled a series of Lenten services.
Continuing through April 7, the northern Botetourt community is invited to gather for worship, singing, preaching, and fellowship in the Buchanan area during the weeks that precede Easter. Light refreshments are served following the 7 p.m. worship. A free light lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the 12-noon worship.

Fincastle UMC Lenten services, lunch
Fincastle United Methodist Church will hold five weekly Wednesday Lenten services and lunch beginning on March 4 in the Family Life Center, 137 S. Church Street, Fincastle. These short, 20-minute services begin at 12:05 p.m. and will be led by area pastors. A home-cooked lunch will follow each service. The service and meal are designed to last about one hour. Child care will be provided. Takeout meals will be available.

The lunch menus are subject to change. If Botetourt County Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the service will be canceled.
Everyone is invited to attend these services during the season of Lent.
St. Mark’s group traveling to International Tattoo in Norfolk
The Joyful Journey Travel Club of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville invites you to join them May 3-4 for the Virginia International Tattoo in Norfolk. This is a ceremonial performance of military music by individual and massed bands from around the world. Also included are acrobats, choral groups and precision military drill teams.
The cost of $266 per person, based on double occupancy, includes the show, one night’s lodging in Virginia Beach, one breakfast, one full course dinner, Hullabaloo pre-show entertainment, MacArthur Memorial, tram tour at Norfolk Botanical Gardens, Waterside District, luggage handling, motorcoach transportation, taxes, meal gratuities, and driver’s tip. Spaghetti dinner at Cedar Bluff Baptist
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church will have a spaghetti dinner from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 28. It is an on-going fundraiser for future building projects.
Tickets are $7 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. The meal will be spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, garlic bread and a drink. Desserts will be available for an extra $1. Some baked goods also will be for sale.
