“Green” businesses and organizations are being showcased this Friday, June 18 during the first Botetourt County Environmental Expo.
The expo is free to the public and is being held from 2-6 p.m. at the Greenfield Education and Training Center in Daleville.
The Environmental Expo is the first of its kind in the county and is sponsored by Botetourt County and the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce.
It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about businesses that are making strides to promote and operate under environmentally-responsible practices, according to county officials. The public is invited to attend, where they will have an opportunity to visit exhibitor booths and see educational displays.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to recycle their household electronics, printer cartridges, dry-cell batteries, and cell phones at the expo.
“There are many opportunities to conserve our resources and enhance our quality of life. The Environmental Expo will allow all of us to see what is available and how we can use it in our day-to-day activities,” says Public Works Manager Ron Smith.
