The Blue Ridge District golf tour came to the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club last week and host Lord Botetourt High School Cavaliers widened their lead. Botetourt shot a team score of 293 to 310 for second place Franklin County.
It was a good day for the Cavaliers, who had two golfers with sub-par rounds. Samir Davidov was medalist with a 69 on the par 71 Botetourt course while Ashton Harper was one under with a 70. Also scoring for LB were Jake Koffman at 76 and Kaitlyn Mosdell at 78. Trey Sharp had a personal best 83 and Dylan Salvi shot 85 as all six Cavaliers finished among the top 15 in a field of 34.
“We were really proud of them for getting it done on our home course,” said LB coach Todd Smith. “We were happy for Samir and Ashton for going under par, but really happy for Trey. Even though we didn’t use his score, we were all excited for his personal best 83.”
Botetourt now leads the district by 65 strokes over second place Franklin County after three rounds of play. The golfers are scheduled to play at Mariners’ Landing today.
