Last week, Botetourt Board of Supervisors representative Billy Martin provided another update to citizens about the current state of Botetourt County.
In his 32nd message, he mentioned that a chilly spell of weather here and there, “the world seems to be waking up” regarding the measures taken in response to the available COVID-19 vaccinations.
He encouraged citizens to continue their social distancing measures as they begin to travel and get out and about once again. The vaccinated population in the Botetourt region is higher than the state average.
Martin mentioned the Munters group building a state-of-the-art, $36 million facility that will house manufacturing, research and development, and sales of data center cooling systems and high-temperature industrial processing systems.
“This is a huge win for Botetourt,” Martin stated. “We had a great team come together to support getting this project across the finish line.”
Martin mentioned that due to Munters wanting their new operation up and running in over a year, “all hands will be on deck” to ensure the project gets completed in the allotted time given for the build.
He also mentioned the board appropriating money to provide the Botetourt County Fire & Rescue with a new ambulance. The county is currently accepting applications for Botetourt’s Fire and Rescue teams.
