It seems like the last season just ended, but practice for the 2021 high school football season will begin this week. Both Lord Botetourt and James River will open practice on Thursday of this week as they get ready for August 27 opening games.
Lord Botetourt will practice beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday until 2 p.m., and that will be the schedule through Saturday. James River will practice from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a break in the middle on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday the Knights will start at 8:30 a.m. and finish up around 4 p.m.
Both teams open the regular season on August 27 with Lord Botetourt traveling to E.C. Glass and James River hosting Buffalo Gap.
