The James River volleyball team will travel to Hillsville on Thursday to take on Carroll County in a Three Rivers District match.
The Knights will be jockeying for position in the Region 2C tournament as they head down the home stretch of the regular season. River was 7-7 overall heading into Tuesday match at Glenvar. Next week the girls are at Radford on Tuesday and home to Alleghany on October 28. The regular season ends on Monday, November 1, with a home match against Martinsville and there is no Three Rivers District tournament.
Last Thursday the Knights hosted a strong Floyd County team and the Buffalo gals remained undefeated at 17-0. Floyd took a three-set win, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-10.
Lexi McCullough had seven kills to lead the Knights, while Bella Gilliland had five kills and a block. Michaela Hedrick had four kills and 19 digs, Bailey Mines had 14 assists and 10 digs and Elly Lackey had 16 digs.
