[SUBMITTED PHOTO]Breckinridge Elementary students competed in a Read for the Gold challenge during the Winter Olympic Games in February. Students tracked their reading in 20-minute increments for the duration of the Olympics, and medal ceremonies were held last week to recognize the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners at each grade.
The winners were: Kindergarten: Cameron Ernest-G-tie, Levi Jackson-G-tie, Dalton Brogan-B; 1st grade: Kevin Shin-G, Jedediah Divers-S, Ellie Rushing-B; 2nd grade: Amelia Duff-G, Elizabeth Ernest-S, Zhanna Minnis-B; 3rd grade: Anna Henry-G, Ava Burton-S, Sadie May-B; 4th grade: Reagan Walker-G, Kevin Shin-S, Brett Henry-B; 5th grade: Caroline Rushing-G, Mirai Burton-S, Carolena Williamson-B.
