Glade Creek Baptist to host Christmas cantata Sunday
The sanctuary choir of Glade Creek Baptist Church will perform their annual Christmas cantata on Sunday, Dec. 11, during the 11 a.m. worship service. This year’s performance is entitled “Glorious Song, Marvelous Light” and features timeless Christmas favorites beautifully blended with contemporary worship pieces. The entire community is invited for this event, as well as a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

Christmas services at Colonial Baptist
Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge invites everyone to its Christmas program Sunday, December 11, at 10:30 a.m., entitled “Our God With Us,” to celebrate through music and drama the incarnation of Jesus Christ.
The church also invites everyone to the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on December 24 at 5 p.m., and the Christmas service on December 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Mill Creek Choir to present musical Sunday
The Mill Creek Baptist Church Adult Christmas Choir will present “Glorious Light of Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. This joyful and celebratory musical shares the hope and promise that came down to earth in the form of a baby on that first Christmas night so long ago. There will be a reception following the 6 p.m. presentation.
Free Brunch With Santa at Fincastle UMC
Fincastle United Methodist Church invites area families to Free Brunch With Santa from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 10, in the Family Life Center, 137 S. Church Street. Extended hours at Solomon’s Thrift Store
The Solomon’s Mission Thrift Store on Lowe Street, Buchanan, will be open every Thursday in December from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., in addition to regular hours.
Cloverdale Thrift Store stocked for Christmas
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store has lots of Christmas decorations, Christmas sweaters, toys, and a large selection of winter coats. It is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. Donations are welcome.
Buchanan Presbyterian sponsoring ‘Feed My Sheep’ in parade
Buchanan Presbyterian Church is entering a float, “Feed My Sheep,” in the Buchanan Christmas Parade on December 10. Parade watchers are asked to help those who are in need of food by bringing cereal with them to the parade to donate to the Buchanan Presbyterian Food Pantry. “Sheep” will collect the boxes of cereal for the Food Pantry along the parade route. The parade begins at 4 p.m. on December 10.

Cedar Bluff to celebrate 90th anniversary
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Buchanan will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the church on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. David Austin will present special music and the history of the church will be read. Interim Pastor Mike Woody will have a brief message. Lunch will be served afterward. Former members and the public are invited.

Cave Rock Baptist providing free meals
A free community meal will be provided at Cave Rock Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 5-6:30 p.m. Stay for free food and fellowship or come by and take the meal to go. No donations will be accepted. The church is located at 2233 Stoney Battery Road, Troutville; Mark Childers, pastor.
Springwood Food Pantry open Dec. 17
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 9-10:30 a.m. The pantry is located at 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan. This pantry is a drive through pantry, so clients may remain in their cars and volunteers will load the food for them.
The pantry is open each month on the third Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. It is a partner with Feeding America Southwest Virginia and anyone in need of food is invited.
