The Botetourt County Chorus will present “Journey Down Memory Lane” on Sunday, October 29 in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 3 p.m.
The chorus is celebrating its 45th anniversary. It began in 1978 under the direction of Garland Stevens and Louise Hyde Ale with 48 members. They envisioned a county choral group that would last for many years. The current chorus numbers about 30.
This concert is directed by Stephen Harris and accompanied by Lillian Cook. The songs were chosen from the extensive files of the last 45 years.
Included are “We’re Gonna Put on a Show,” “Bye Bye Love,” “Que Sera, Sera,” “He Touched Me,” “Because He Lives,” “Go Light Your World,” “Silver Bells” and many more. Bring a friend and enjoy an afternoon of music and maybe a bit of comedy. The concert is free and donations are welcome at the door to help with chorus expenses.
