After careful evaluation of written applications, conducting interviews and holding an officer training session, six students were announced by their teacher and adviser Stuart Byrd as the Lord Botetourt FFA 2024-2025 chapter officer team.

This year’s officer team will be made up of Nicholas Morris, Sentinel; Justin Saunders, Reporter; Abby Perkey, Treasurer; Olivia Cook, Secretary; Nevaeh Lawson, Vice President; and Sylvana Cavinder, President. The officers were announced at the regional COLT Conference where they were trained in various leadership skills and learned the importance of serving their community and fellow FFA members.

The chapter’s year has already begun, and members are as busy as ever. After competing at the 98th State FFA Convention, they attended the Botetourt County Fair, where they sold pork chop sandwiches with the Botetourt County FFA Alumni Association; volunteered at the Roanoke County Farm Bureau Annual Dinner; sponsored the annual back-to-school cookout for all new and returning FFA members at Lord Botetourt; and directed traffic for the first two home football games.
