Music and food at the Historic Fincastle Festival

The Historic Fincastle Festival is known for many things and two of the favorites are food and music! On Saturday, September 28, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., three music stages will be filled with local musicians.

On the front steps of the courthouse, the schedule will include:

9:30-10:00 David Austin; 10:00-11:00 Henry Downing Band; 11:15-12:00 The Botetourt Ensemble of FUMC; 12:30-2:00 Red Hands (old time/roots music); 2:15-3:30 Buddy and the Blackjacks. Sound will be provided by Steve Hartman, Hartman & Sons.

At the corner of Church St.reet and Murry Street, local music teacher Mike Lee will showcase a talented line up of students throughout the day which will include: 10:00, Avery Saunders; 11:00, Kaeli Berry;12:00, Austin Myers; 1:00, Justin Broughman; 2:00, Alexis Chocklette. Sound for this stage will be provided by Mike Lee.

On Main Street, beside the History Museum, there will be a smaller venue. Come by, have a seat and listen to local musicians and singer/songwriters. If you have a new song you would like to share, bring your instrument.. This schedule will be flexible and allow for guest performers to stop by and play a tune. Performers will include:

9:30-11:00 varied music, including open jam, David Austin (original songs), and drop in musicians; 11:00-12:00 Trey Saunders (ETSU student, bluegrass,  old time, country; 12:30-1:15, Eric Burton (local singer/ songwriter). Sound for this stage will be provided by Eric Burton.
This year’s festival music is sure to entertain and inspire. Come by and enjoy the sounds of local musicians who have strong ties to Botetourt Country.

Along with music, there will be many festival foods to enjoy! Brian and Kitty Weikel will once again be next to the courthouse providing a variety of options, including funnel cakes. Ferguson Family Provisions will be providing several options, along with their popular seafood tacos. Teen Challenge will be serving hot dogs with all the fixin’s. Several new festival food

vendors this year will include the Countryman Jamaican Food Truck and the Hangry Food Truck, which will be set up at the corner of Church Street and Murry Street. As you walk and eat your way around the festival, don’t forget to add Sweet Surrender Ice Cream Co. and GiGi’s Walking Desserts to the list.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. -4 p.m.
