Alvin Gerald “Pete” Alderson, 86, was called home by his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on July 10, 2022.
Pete was born June 2, 1936 to Earl and Hazel Hartsel Alderson. He married Hazel Painter Alderson in 1957. Pete began working for Kroger while also pursuing a degree at Virginia Tech; in 1970 he completed his studies and was awarded his degree. He was employed by The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (located in Jacksonville, Fla). Later, he was employed by the Coca-Cola Co. in Longwood, Fla. After serving a number of major companies, he retired with wife Hazel in Lecanto, Fla.
He was a member of the Crystal River Baptist Church where he served as teacher and deacon. Pete also served the Southern Baptist Convention as a Volunteer for The North American Mission Board.
A service celebrating his life was held at First Baptist Church of Crystal River on Thursday, July 14 with Pastor David Throckmorten officiating.
Pete is survived by his wife Hazel; daughter, Amanda Hadley and husband Jason Hadley; grandson, Christian Hadley; sister-in-law, Susan Painter Jones and husband Michael Jones. He is also survived by, his brother, John Alderson and wife (and sister-in-law) Doris; nephew, John Mark Alderson; niece Debra Alderson McClane; nephew Curtis Alderson, his wife, Jennifer Alderson and, their sons Jacob and Matthew Alderson.
