American Legion Post 240 recently conducted a raffle featuring a first place prize of a $1,000 Kroger gift card and a second place prize of a $250 Kroger gift card.
The $1,000 gift card was awarded to Michelle Niday of Fincastle. She purchased her ticket in a Bojangles parking lot shortly before the drawing, and her last-minute decision proved fortunate. Niday chose to share her winnings, giving $300 each to her mother and aunt and keeping $300 for herself. She also donated the remaining $100 back to Post 240 to support its community assistance efforts.
The $250 gift card was awarded to Pam Craft of Buchanan, who expressed her excitement upon learning she had won. The prize will help her prepare for the upcoming holidays.
Post 240 extended its appreciation to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, noting that the proceeds will support ongoing efforts to assist veterans in the area.
