Wade T. Anderson has joined Sands Anderson PC, bringing with him an extensive background in education law, announced firm President Margaret F. Hardy. Anderson joins Sands Anderson’s Government Group and will be based in the firm’s Richmond office.
“We are delighted Wade has chosen Sands Anderson and welcome him to the firm,” said Hardy. “He is a wonderful addition to our team, and we look forward to continuing to grow the ways in which we can best serve our education law clients.”
For the past seven years, Anderson worked in the Henrico County Attorney’s Office serving as Counsel to the School Board for Henrico County Public Schools. In his role, he advised superintendents and school board members on legal issues facing Virginia’s sixth largest school division including board governance, board policies, the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and data privacy. He also worked closely with the division’s Department of Human Resources on employment matters, including employee investigations, employee grievances, and state licensure issues. Anderson is the immediate past Chair of the Virginia School Board Association’s Council of School Attorneys (COSA).
Prior to joining Henrico County, Anderson worked as an Associate at Frith, Anderson & Peake PC and clerked for the Honorable G. Steven Agee on the Court of Appeals of Virginia, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Anderson received his undergraduate degree from High Point University, a master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University, and his law degree from University of Richmond School of Law. He can be reached at WAnderson@sandsanderson.com.
Anderson is a native of Botetourt County.
