The Botetourt County Alumni and Supporters of 4-H and FFA will host the annual Youth Expo on Friday, Feb. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Lord Botetourt High School. They invite anyone in the county that is interested in seeing the accomplishments of these youth organizations to attend.

The Botetourt County FFA Alumni and Supporters will provide free hot dogs, chips, water and desserts. The FFA will be hosting the district public speaking event while the 4-H will be holding its annual Share the Fun Event.

Aside from these events, all of the local 4-H organizations and FFA chapters in the county will have displays of their various groups. This is an opportunity for all of them to show off and promote their accomplishments over the year. This is a family friendly event with things to see for all ages, including the livestock that will be on display in the Agriculture Laboratory.

There is no cost to attend the event, although there will be an opportunity to purchase tickets for the “Cornhole Board Raffle” or make donations to any of the organizations at the event.

“We hope that you will be able to attend. We need your support if we are going to live up to the mission of the Alumni Association, which is to secure the promise of 4-H, FFA and agricultural education by creating an environment where people and communities can, develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success,” said Stuart Byrd, FFA advisor.

For more information, contact FFA advisor Stuart Byrd. sbyrd@bcps.k12.va.us, or Kate Stevens, kstevens@bcps.k12.va.us; or Tyler Painter, 4-H youth development, at tpaint85@vt.edu, or Courtney Henderson, Alumni representative, at court14@vt.edu.
