Bank of Botetourt has announced the following promotions:
Jason M. Bishop has been promoted to Vice President, Human Resources Officer. Bishop has been with the bank for more than 14 years and he is currently in the Troutville office. He has a degree in Business Administration from Roanoke College and is a member of the Botetourt Kiwanis Club. In his spare time he is a co-owner and brewmaster at Twin Creeks Brewing Co. in Vinton. A Botetourt County native, he currently resides in Troutville with his wife, Shannon.
After being with the bank for over five years, Shay Stevens has been promoted to Vice President, Marketing Officer. Stevens is in the Daleville Office and primarily coordinates the advertising, charitable contributions and special events for the bank. She has over 22 years of experience and previously worked at Community Bank in Staunton where she was Vice President and Marketing Director. Stevens is a graduate of Radford University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She is on the Board of Directors for the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce, a member of Bonsack Baptist Church and PURE Ministries and is the Event Leader for the 2018 Night to Shine. Stevens was born and raised in Bedford County, and resides in Daleville.
With over 10 years as an officer for the bank, Stephanie Ponton has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager at the Daleville Office. Ponton has over 40 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Bank of Botetourt, she was with Central Fidelity in operations and lending. She joined the Bank of Botetourt in 1984 and has served in various capacities, including Branch Manager of the Eagle Rock branch. She is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association and Presbyterian Women USA. Ponton was born in Roanoke and grew up in Botetourt. She resides in Buchanan with her husband, Dwight.
As Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer, Amanda Peay manages the in-house loan process for the bank and is based out of the Loan Service Center in Troutville. She is a Business Administration graduate from Columbia College in Columbia, S.C. and has 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She is the current Youth Director and Lay Leader for Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. A resident of Buchanan, she and her husband Jeff have three children Virginia, Luke and Annabelle. They attend Liberty University, James River High School and Central Academy Middle School, respectively.
Bank of Botetourt operates 12 retail offices in Botetourt, Rockbridge, Roanoke and Franklin Counties and in the City of Salem. It also operates a mortgage division, Virginia Mountain Mortgage, and a financial services division, Botetourt Wealth Management.
