The Bank of Fincastle is currently accepting applications for its Fall Run Scholarship.

This year will mark the 33rd Annual Bank of Fincastle Fall 5K and 10K to be held in the historic Town of Fincastle on Saturday, Oct. 19. The run has been a staple in the community and brings local school students and communities together in a positive way to promote health, exercise and wellness. Each year since the race’s inception, the bank has presented a scholarship to a student who has participated in and completed at least one fall run event and has been a member of a running sport in high school.

The bank increased its scholarship award last year and will continue to award to two $1,000 scholarships, one for a student at James River High School in Buchanan and one for a student at Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville. The student must be a member of the current graduating class of either school and plan to attend an accredited college, university or any accredited post-secondary institution immediately after graduation.

For a printable application and to review the additional details of the scholarship, visit The Bank of Fincastle’s website at https://www.bankoffincastle.bank/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Scholarship-app-2019.pdf, email the request to 5k10Krun@bankoffincastle.com or contact the high school guidance department.
