Bank of Fincastle names Tiller VP of Residential Real Estate, announces other promotions

The Bank of Fincastle has announced the promotion of Dana Tiller to Vice President of Residential Real Estate, Meredith Sweeney to Real Estate Loan Processor and welcomes Matthew Russell as Credit Analyst, and Christy Sutphin as Commercial Loan Processor.

Dana Tiller joined The Bank of Fincastle in 2016 and has served on both the retail and mortgage banking teams since then. Prior to joining the Bank, Tiller gained twenty-one years of combined experience as a loan processor, loan officer and branch manager at CornerStone Bank and Wachovia Bank. She is a 2014 graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management. According to Tiller, “I am pleased to lead the residential real estate team at The Bank of Fincastle and provide outstanding service to our customers in the growing Botetourt market.” Tiller will serve the bank’s lending customers from her office at the Daleville Branch. A native of Roanoke, Tiller resides with her family in Buchanan.

Meredith Sweeney has been promoted to Real Estate Loan Processor for the bank. She began her banking career as a seasonal teller while in high school. While attending Longwood University, she successfully completed a banking internship with the bank. She is now a graduate of Longwood University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and was hired as a management trainee after graduation. Sweeney is a native of Botetourt County and currently resides in Daleville.

Matthew Russell joins the bank as Credit Analyst. Russell’s experience includes three years as credit analyst at First Bank and Trust in Christiansburg and Washington First Bank in Reston, Va. He is a 2014 graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and is currently working on his Master’s of Accountancy from the University of Phoenix. Russell is a native of Roanoke and currently resides there with his wife.

Christy Sutphin has joined The Bank of Fincastle as Retail Loan Processor. Sutphin brings more than16 years of experience to the bank. She was most recently employed by BNC/Pinnacle Bank as loan review specialist and Valley Bank as a loan processor. Sutphin spent 12 years at Stellar One as the credit department manager. A native of Salem, she currently resides in Roanoke County with her family.
