Barry Glass, senior rail operations manager, and Gabe Stewart, operations supervisor, present Michael Rock, president of the Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, with a check to assist in the outfitting of the department’s recently acquired medium duty squad truck.

The Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $5,000 donation from the Norfolk Southern Corporation, Pocahontas Division to assist in the outfitting of the department’s recently acquired medium duty squad truck. Barry Glass, senior rail operations manager, and Gabe Stewart, operations supervisor, made the presentation of the check at the Blue Ridge firehouse on April 2.

The Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department recently refurbished a used 1996 squad truck that was purchased from the Remington Fire Department in northern Virginia. This donation comes from Norfolk Southern Pocahontas Division’s local discretionary fund that is used to assist local community charitable organizations.
