The Bonsack/Blue Ridge Ruritan Club will hold its annual chicken barbecue dinner at the Family Life Center of Bonsack United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 6, from 4:30-6:30 pm.

Cost is $8 per ticket. The meal includes half a chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, roll and beverage.  Desserts will be on sale. Attendees can eat-in or take-out.

Tickets are on sale from club members or call Linda Smelser at 977-2542 for information.

Funds collected will be used to support programs that benefit the local community, as well as Hunters for the Hungry, the Roanoke Rescue Mission, the RAM House, the Ronald McDonald House, the Veterans’ Care Center, and the D-Day Memorial.  In addition, members sponsor annual scholarships for area students, participate in the Adopt-a-Highway Program, promote recycling, and sponsor bi-monthly Red Cross blood donor drives.
